Online therapy can be conducted in any private location with good internet connection. You may use your telephone, laptop, or tablet. You will be given a meeting ID and password to connect via Zoom. Due to licensing regulations, individuals must be located in Ohio, Michigan, or Florida during the time of your appointment.
-
During your first online therapy appointment, we'll talk about why you're seeking therapy, your personal history, and the goals you want to work on. We'll also discuss the therapeutic process, confidentiality, and any questions you have. Just like in all sessions you’re never required to share information you’re not ready to. I work every session to EARN your trust by showing up authentic in the therapy space.

The frequency of our appointments will depend on your individual needs and the treatment plan we develop together. We will work together to find a consistent day and time in the schedule that works for you. Typically, sessions occur weekly or bi-weekly. As therapy progresses and you make progress toward your goals, we reassess and adjust the frequency as needed. Open communication about your preferences and progress will guide the scheduling of our sessions to ensure the most effective and supportive therapeutic experience.

For clients whose insurance I am out of network with or those who choose to not have their information shared with their insurance company, the cost of the first appointment is $200 and the follow up sessions are $165 each.
If I am in network with your insurance, your specific plan actually sets the rates you pay for therapy. You may contact your insurance company directly for an explanation of what your specific plan covers.
-
Using your insurance plan may provide a slight discount to the cost of your therapy.
If you utilize your insurance, I am required to give you a mental health diagnosis that becomes a part of your permanent medical record.
This is something that can negatively affect you in the future if you apply for life insurance, go through a divorce, child custody battle, or have a high profile job that requires higher clearance (ie: pilot, law enforcement, FBI, etc).
Please also note that using insurance requires consent for the insurance company to access the provided diagnosis and progress notes, which include details about your therapy goals and progress made in session.
This is a mandate created by insurance companies in order to utilize your plans coverage.

Because each insurance plan varies, I recommend contacting your insurance company directly or check their online portal to find out if online therapy, also known as teletherapy, is a covered service. You would also benefit from asking what your deductible and copay are. The billing codes I use are 90791 (first appointment known as your “intake” appointment) and 90837 (follow up therapy sessions).
-
The duration of therapy varies for each individual and depends on your unique needs, goals, and progress. Some people find relief and achieve their objectives in a few months, while others may benefit from longer-term therapy. The decision to continue or conclude therapy is a collaborative process, and we can regularly assess your progress to ensure that the duration and focus of therapy align with your evolving needs and goals.

If you have out-of-network coverage, you can submit your Superbill for reimbursement. You would pay for each session at the time of service, and I’ll provide you with a document each month called a "Superbill." Once your deductible is met, your insurance will reimburse you.
