how i can help

EMDR Intensives can help you achieve lasting deep healing, at an accelerated pace.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) is a research based  treatment strategy for healing emotional wounds and trauma through the use of self administered body tapping or engagement in back and forth eye movements while being guided by a licensed therapist. This collaborative process unlocks the power within your brain to heal the limiting thoughts and overwhelming feelings that have held you captive. As we navigate through the 8 phases of EMDR, we will tailor the journey to meet your needs, helping you cultivate more accurate and healthy beliefs about yourself and your capabilities.

Perhaps you’ve tried weekly therapy before and have noticed that you are close to the brink of a breakthrough from the negative thoughts that have held you back, only to be interrupted by the clock, ending the session prematurely. With EMDR Intensives, you will have ample time to delve deeper into your thoughts to make significant progress towards healing and personal growth.

Just as organizing a large room can be a time-consuming and sometimes a never-ending task, the process of healing through traditional therapy can also feel like you're repeatedly tidying up the same issues. Think of it as spending an hour each week cleaning a messy room. While progress is made, you find yourself revisiting and redoing some of the same tasks week after week.

EMDR intensives serve as the ultimate cleaning solution. This process allows you to tackle the clutter in your emotional space in a concentrated format, giving you a better opportunity to address and resolve issues from your past more comprehensively, so you don't have to keep revisiting them week after week. It's like finally organizing the mental room once and for all, achieving a deeper sense of clarity and healing.

How intensives work…

Free Consultation and Preparation

The first step to starting our work together includes a Free 20 minute consultation to explore the idea of intensive work and see if this specialized therapy module fits your needs. We will talk together briefly about your goals and I will gather basic information about you to create an online client portal where you will complete all necessary intake forms, schedule your EMDR Intensive, and receive your Getting Started Workbook to begin completing at your convenience and comfort pace prior to our first Assessment appointment.

Assessment: $330 (May be covered by your insurance)

We will meet for two sessions to explore deeper into your personal history and the events that have led you to seek out intensive work. I am here to assist you in creating a roadmap for our work together, including specifying your personalized goals. During these sessions, we will briefly discuss the emotional wounds you want to address, and I will guide you in developing the coping skills necessary to manage  intense emotions that may arise during EMDR therapy. Together, we'll discuss items that may be helpful in creating comfort during this intensive work and explore putting together resources to utilize for self care before, during, and after your intensive session.

6 Hour Intensive Day: $1500 (Not an insurance covered service)

We will utilize the 8 Phase Method of EMDR with the goal of working through the complete EMDR cycle during your intensive.

  • Part 1: 8:30 AM-11:30 AM: We will briefly review any important changes that have taken place since your assessment,  recap your personalized coping skills, and explore the specific area we will be targeting during your intensive. We will then begin engaging in EMDR Therapy to create new neural networks in your thoughts and feelings to help you process this target area.

  • Part 2: 12:30-2:30 : Following your Lunch Break we will utilize grounding and self centering skills before returning to our target area, where we will revisit changes to your beliefs about the event or theme we are targeting, and continue navigating your brain's connections through the use of EMDR therapy. Our session will conclude with incorporating self care and grounding skills to enhance regulation as you move into your evening.

Your EMDR Intensive has One 60 Minute break and Two 10 Minute Breaks built in for nutrition and self care. You can always take additional breaks, should you need.

After Care

Following an Intensive you will likely notice an improvement in how you have been handling and understanding the area you presented to work on. You may, however, still have additional areas to address from your past. Some individuals choose to schedule another intensive day or opt to continue with ongoing weekly 50 minute or biweekly EMDR therapy.

Why choose Intensives vs standard EMDR?

Focused and Targeted Work:

  • Intensives take the guesswork out of what you are addressing in therapy. Our sessions will be clearly concentrated and defined, allowing your work to go deeper than standard EMDR sessions.

Uninterrupted Therapeutic Breakthroughs:

  • Using the Intensive format means significantly less time between sessions, so therapy keeps going smoothly, helping your brain to stay focused on working through memories and emotions without the usual interruptions.

Accelerated Progress:

  • Intensive sessions can help you process feelings and memories faster, giving you a bigger step forward in your healing journey compared to sessions that are spread out from week to week.

  • Let’s get to the bottom of these patterns in thinking. We will identify the area or negative belief you want to address and dive deeper into where in your life this belief originated.

  • You have the power to heal. Through the use of bilateral stimulation and EMDR therapy, we will help your brain grow new healthy patterns of thought.

  • It’s time to lead a life free from the burdens of your past. When you release the chains that have been holding you back, you are free to live in the present.

EMDR Intensives can help you:

  • Identify the negative belief patterns that are keeping you captive

  • Reduce disruptions in life caused by emotional wounds and trauma

  • Improve the way you regulate your emotions

  • Build new and healthy patterns of thinking

  • Decrease the overall time and financial commitment towards healing

I want you to know:

You don’t have to carry this anymore.
